About the Role:

Our company is seeking a User Experience Researcher to help us improve our product and member experience. You will gather data from our customers using surveys, focus groups, and other research methods. You will do this using prototype design before launch and the final product after launch. Your goal is to help our product design team create a more user-centered design, and your translation and analysis of the data will go into a report that varioNexus departments will use for future projects.  As business needs arises, you may also help the Customer Insights team with conducting qualitative research to support Marketing and Member Cycle teams’ business questions.

  • Minimum 5 years of UX research experience
  • Good strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think creatively and find solutions, especially in ambiguous situations and within constraints.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading in-house end-to-end generative, exploratory, discovery, and evaluative research.    
  • Experience in using various research methods to answer business questions                 
  • Ability to communicate and tell compelling stories of research output intuitively using the most efficient formats appropriate for the target audience.                    
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively prioritize and manage multiple research projects.            
  • Ability to identify and execute the most innovative, latest, and creative research methodologies and research tools, agile when needed.
  • Show empathy for our users and be the voice of user experience
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate agility and flex to business needs and priorities
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Conduct primary research (qual, quant, mixed methods) of potential or current members 
  • Compile and analyze results
  • Provide a report to product design and other Cross-functional teams
  • In-house Research:  Usability testing, user interviews, A/B testing, surveys
  • B2C testing experience
  • Contextual observation
  • First click testing
  • Synthesize and story tell insights
  • Figma basics (commenting, user flows, simple prototypes)
  • Design Thinking Workshop experience is a plus
  • Working in Figma, Jira, Slack is a must
What We are Looking For:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a UX Researcher
  • Experience working with UX design
  • Strong research, analysis, ‘the so-what’ from the research to guide business direction 
  • Experience running in-house primary research (i.e., focus groups, 1-on-1 interviews, unmoderated activities, surveys etc.)
  • Good comfort level with an end-to-end ‘do-it-yourself’ qualitative platform (i.e., user-testing, DScout, etc.) 
  • Communication Skills: good communication skills to relay complex research methodology concepts and findings to product department personnel and other collaborating personnel in a clear, simple, and relatable manner. Candidates’ communication skills have to be good, both written and verbal.
  • Problem Solver: The role is designed to formulate actionable research solutions for the product and product departments’ research issues. The UX Researcher must come up with creative solutions and consider a variety of alternative explanations for each problem.
